After a lot of headscratching and googling and learning new commands I've gotten a Canon PIXMA iP3500 printer to work reasonably well on 7.10. I've left tracks in the hardware support forum, but it seems that there should be somewhere else I could put the links and procedures that worked for me so that the next person who attempts to hook up this printer will have an easier time than I did. Any advice?

You could write a tutorial in the Tutorials & Tips section. You might also be interested in the link in my signature (the first one) -- good place to post links to helpful how-tos.

I suggest you write a Howto: and post it in the Tutorials & Tips forum. It may well help others. Have a look at other Howto:s in that section to get an idea of style and content.

As the previous post suggests posting a link to a site like UbuntuKnowledge.org is also a good idea.

OK. Thanks to both of you. I dimly remember running across a wiki page somewhere that lists ubuntu supported printers (not this one, of course). I can't find it. If I could, I'd edit that as well as thinking about preparing a tutorial. Any ideas on an existing printer wiki?
