AOL is killing off the Netscape browser effective Feb 1st, 2008.

as much as i hated netscape it did give us firefox so how bad could it really be?

This has been out since last year and has been on the community cafe.

It's a shame, but lets face it. Netscape Navigator 9 is just firefox with a new skin.

There is nothing special about the current Netscape. Firefox with a new sking. The communicator package that includes email and web page editor is a bit different then Sea Monkey but not enough to make a difference.

I will miss the fond memories of using the original Netscape back in the day.

And when I first started using Linux Netscape was pretty much the only GUI browser we had. It used the motif library back then so the fonts looked awful but hey it got the job done.

:( Netscape was the only decent browser to use in Linux way back...I'll miss it.

I'll miss the Lighthouse/Meteor throbber in Netscape. But it was dying for a while now.

I've got a copy of Netscape 4.0 on a floppy disk somewhere. :)

LOL I know that feeling. Digging out 3 1/2 diskettes and thinking to myself, well you never know I might just keep that in case or ahh that was a great app.

I DO NOT OWN A 3 1/2 DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!! :lolflag:

Edit. There might be one in my shed, but theres NO WAY im tackling the huge spiders in there to find out if ObertronDOS still works :)
