So here are some questions that I would like to ask before installation: what is talkswitch? And how does it work in small business office and from where can I get it? Can anyone help me regarding to my query? Your information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

"There is currently no formal support for Windows 2003 Server.
There is currently no support for Mac OS or Linux operating systems.
There is no support for operating systems no longer supported by Microsoft, such as Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows 95."

Guess it's a no go!

Hi, I also have a small business and I am using Talkswitch since two years. Basically TalkSwitch (http://www.neobits.com) is the original all-in-one PBX telephone system for small business. Packed with amazing features, TalkSwitch systems improves your image, saves your money and keeps you connected everywhere.

With TalkSwitch, you connect the way you choose. It works with VoIP (Voice over IP) and the traditional telephone network, and you can choose IP or standard analog telephones. TalkSwitch PBX and IP PBX phone systems lets you work the way you want to.
Cheers!

You might want to check out this open source PBX: asterisk (http://www.asterisk.org/).

Does anyone know how to set up a VOIP SIP server? I would like to use my Ubuntu server to route my phone calls to my Talkswitch system.

I am not sure what all that is intailed to do this. I know I need at least the following:

1. Telephone number
2. SIP (so the Talkswitch phone can be found)

I would assume I buy the telephone number from the local telephone company for $2 - $5 per month then give them the IP address to point the telephone number to the Ubuntu Server IP Address.

I wil probably need to open a port or two..... Not sure which ones.

Then I point the SIP number from my Ubuntu Server to my Talkswitch phone.

Can someone point me to a resource that can help me get from where I am to making my server do what I need?

Thanks,

Spindler

I would start a support thread in a support forum here rather than and try and wake a cafe chat thread from 3 years ago.
