my question is, how does one person go about creating a 'distro'? like what are the steps, do you create the system as you would just add and remove from any other system, then use a tool like remastersys? and how would one customize the live cd to have a boot splash with options?

or how do you get something like the debian installer on a cd with the system? or how to make a livecd/dvd? professionally

Google for tutorials, I found the above link as the simplest solution. (I haven't tested it)

i've attempted the linux from scratch before, if i have a year to read the whole book i might try that if i really wanna take that long, and the ibuild sounds interesting and a little bit what i want, i get Internal Server Error when i try to download it..
