Amazed - Windows Media Player 11 Files Work in VLC??

I had some video files that I made in Microsoft Movie Maker compiling photos and music into a video format playable in Windows Media Player 11.

I copied these files from my windows partition and tried to play them in VLC. Previous attempts failed - now they work!

Did the latest version of VLC gain the ability to play WMP11 files?

unless you got a codec or something, but if VLC works for this it is very good news.

vlc seems to play damn near anything.
