We will be having an informational meeting tonight (December 12, 2007) at 8:00 p.m. on IRC #ubuntu-us-oh. It is very important for people to attend. We are going to discuss our vision and where we are headed.

Jacob has posted a summary and meeting log for our meeting on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/OhioTeam/Meetings/2007Dec12. Polls have been setup on Launchpad for team leadership and the subteam layout. Please read the meeting log before answering the poll.

Now if only we could see the results as they progressed..

:lolflag:

I guess that's what unchecking the "spoil votes" box does. Quite a confusing thing Launchpad polls are.

Howdy everyone! Just a quick review on the meeting if anyone missed it.

The first topic of discussion was the team mergers. As voted upon, some of our sub-teams have been merged. The Education and New User teams have been merged into the Education Team; Communication, Wiki, and Web have been merged into Communication; and finally the Marketing and CD have been merged into Marketing. The mergers have taken place on the Wiki and Launchpad.

After the mergers, nominations took place for Ubuntu Ohio Council. The nominations are as follows:

Jacob Peddicord (jacob/jacobmp92)
John (tnseditor)
Anthony Hall (theidiotthatisme)
Michael Price (seisen)
DM (Delvien/DM|}

You may poll for their inclusion on the UOC at:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-us-ohio/+polls

Following nominations, was reporting on the Ohio Ubucon '08 status. We currently have sponsorship with Linux Game Publishing, as well as being in contact with ZaReason following the holidays. Canonical and Google are both beginning to be contacted as well. Everyone is encouraged to seek sponsorship from companies!

We are also currently looking for a location as soon as possible for the event. Right now Rhetoric and TheIdiotThatIsMe are currently seeking out possible places to host the event; However all are strongly encouraged to keep an eye out for places also.

As always, you can always view meeting minutes on the Wiki for older meetings.

Thank you!
