there was a post a while back called "Careers in Linux?" http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=547337, but I was wondering about jobs in FOSS more generally, not just with Linux. Jobs with Linux are great, but I'm just trying to spread as broad an umbrella as possible.
Additionally, there's lots of programming jobs out there, but I'm not a programmer, or anything close. I know PHP, Javascript, SQL, XML, XQuery, XSD, XSL, bash and a little perl and a little not-so-fresh Java. I'm taking a distributed systems course in my master's program this semester, so that should set me up for some good systems administration stuff.
I think what maybe I'm best at though is talking to non-techies about why FOSS is so great and getting people involved. For the sake of brevity, I won't go too much into that, but I'm curious as to what sort of FOSS evangelism jobs are out there.
Anyway, I think a thread about this could probably be good for others and not just me, but I thought I'd throw some of that info about me out there.
What are the best resources (books, websites, etc.) for this sort of thing?
Thanks!
