I've always wanted to test out an old version of KDE or GNOME, like KDE2 or something, just to see what it's like and stuff.

Is there a way for me to install KDE2 onto my computer without deleting anything I already have? I'm currently using GNOME as my regular desktop environment. I probably won't stick to KDE2, I just want to test it out.

If you use gnome normaly then no for any of th kdes. but if you want to try out gnome 1 then you have a problem.

I'm guessing you will have a lot of difficulty with dependencies if you try to install either in a modern distro. Trying to find an old distro .iso and installing it in a VM would probably be your best bet.

I have a collection of old linux disks if you need one I could set an iso up some where you if you want.

That would be great if you could hook me up with an old distro .iso with KDE2 on it by default, thanks! :)

I am uploading a copy of mandrake 7.1 (predecessor to mandrivia) right now. once it is uploaded I will post a link to it.

I am pretty sure it has kde2 if not I have another one that should have it.

ps it is not a live cd so you have to actually install it.

It took for ever to find a free upload site for it that would work.
