View Full Version : open source on other devices

I was just wondering if anyone here uses open source on devices other than pc's. I have a 30gb ipod video runnin an open-source hardware hack called rockbox. http://www.rockbox.org

I find it great because I am no longer reliant on itunes to put music on my ipod.
All I have to do is drag and drop music into the ipod just like with an external hdd, and it will find and play the music.

It also supports more formats (such as ogg), tends to be more efficient on battery life, and audio quility is generally better.

So.. Is anyone using open source on other devices?

I rather suspect that several boxes in my LAN at home contain open source software, such as

linksys file server (the 'slug')
synology (sp?) file server (contains php, mySQL)
linksys and netgear routers
