Thanks... :P Please give me some useful tips if I needed..
useful tip 1: read all of aysiu's posts to noobs.

useful tip 2: don't sell yourself short.

useful tip 3: buy a good, non-distribution-specific Linux book, and read that.

useful tip 4: when asking for help, GIVE US INFORMATION. Hardware (specific makes, models, model numbers), software (version numbers)...if we have seen/can reproduce the problem, it's easier for us to come to a solution that helps *you*.

useful tip 5: remember that any help you get here is offered in the spirit of ubuntu--humanity towards others. Never, ever, make unreasonable demands on this kind of generosity, or you'll find yourself being (politely) roasted.

Good tips. Emphasize the "information" point. I can't help if I don't know what's up.

And remember: We all were n00bs before ;)

And remember: We all were n00bs before

Don't let being a n00b get the best of you either!

Welcome aboard and please visit out UbuntuGuide.org & UbuntuLinux.org/wiki both serve a huge purpose in this community and are helpful to n00b and non-n00b members :)

haha. I got that one. Fortunately, the developers actually produce something, unlike the perpetual motion car engine we've been waiting on for the past ~50 years...

CYHPT.net, those names are just version releases of Ubuntu, 4.10 and 5.04, respectively (I think). The next one (breezy) is 5.10 (I think). Repositories are where you get all the extra applications you want to install. See here (http://ubuntuguide.org/).
