I was looking for some computer basics videos for a friend and I really couldn't find much you know troubleshooting, configuration, etc. I know some resources do exist and I have some more advanced videos of my own. It seems to me a large downloadable educational series would be a great resource especially if it were very broad and under an easy searchable title. I don't have the video equipment to help yet but it seems like something useful the community could do.

I was actually thinking about creating small video howtos for running various applications under Ubuntu and uploading them to youtube but like you I lack the equipment for such a task.Of course being on youtube you would not be able to download them as well.I don't really have time for such a task but it was cool to think about.I wish Istanbul could record stuff at full speed with audio input from a mic or something, then I would not need video equipment.

Well there are a couple of ubuntu specific sites and some advanced videos it the intermediate and begginner pc tech and admin stuff that I percieve to be largly missing

These are great but downloading them to a cd or dvd would be difficult

I know a few people who want to know more about computers and Linux but don't have the patience or will power to sit with the books that seem like greek to them. As much as podcasts are fun infomative news outlets it would be nice to have edutainment dvd's to hand to people who might become power users.
