This book popped up on my books24x7.com new books list and I went through it and learned a few things. Deals almost exclusively with performing tasks via the command line - including converting images and working with audio files and burning dvds. Was written before final release of 7.10.

The one thing that stood out to me as missing was any discussion of the GNU Privacy Guard (gpg).

The next time I need to make an iso image or transfer files I will definitely try some of the techniques mentioned, such as sshfs.

yetanothersteve I had just bought this book myself the other day. You should definitely play around with sshfs.

It's funny you mention that because I had just read about it yesterday and had been playing around with it.

That is an extremely useful tool and is yet another cool thing you can do with ssh protocol.

I was even able to find a version for my Mac laptop! :-)
