What ideas or applications have people on here used to keep track of changed/new files. You see, I have a decent amount of stuff that I back up in the new year. I also find myself backing up alot of the files that have not been changed and have been in my possession for years. I dont really need to back those up again so having a way to keep track of what new stuff has been added or changed in a folder would be nice.

Thanks so much,

Kat

you can use the copy command to update files which are old and copy files which are missing.

cp -u SOURCE DEST

cp is copy command
-u is the option to update files
SOURCE is the source directory
DEST is the target directory

see man cp for more info
