Warner to sell unprotected music

Warner is the third (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/28/technology/28music.html?ref=media) of four major record labels to decide to sell their music DRM-free.

BMG is supposed to start experimenting with it early next year. We're going the right direction.

Things are working out our way. BMG just signed up with Amazon (http://www.reuters.com/article/consumerproducts-SP/idUSN1023259820080111) to sell their music as DRM-free mp3's. Now all four major record companies are DRM-free.


Earlier this week, Sony BMG became the last of the four major music companies to start selling its digital songs without copy protection with the launch of its MusicPass service.

I know some people don't like mp3 format, but give me a break! It's way better than the DRMed wmv's and iTunes that we're used to. This is a major plus to the Linux world.
