SO today i finally decided to replace my worn out, hunk of junk, Sony mouse. I want to one of the nearby electronic stores and this mouse caught my eye. (http://www.our-picks.com/archives/2006/12/03/m-d13ur-by-elecom/ (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.our-picks.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/elecom-m-d13ur-1_large.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.our-picks.com/archives/2006/12/03/m-d13ur-by-elecom/&h=459&w=540&sz=41&hl=en&start=7&sig2=Yo0Uws2wuQORzqn9doiWJQ&um=1&tbnid=GTYPdomIecbnDM:&tbnh=112&tbnw=132&ei=wy1zR6f0DJnkeZjesTw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Delecom%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3De n%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN))

It is an encredebly cool mouse, So after i got home, i plugged it in and it immediately registered with my Ununtu com, and then i noticed there is this button on the side of it. And apparently this mouse is made for windows, and the button is supposed to be programed for whatever you want, but in ubuntu it is used to rotate the desktop cube, and copy and past things. I dont know how to program the button, but it feals like this mouse was made with Linux in mind. :)

either way im very happy with it

for me oblivion works just as fine and in certain aspects better then in windows, and personally thats all i need, but i still keep 2 windows flavors around for other things ((mostly school things that i need windows for)) but i keep a few games on it.

it might not be free, in either sense of the word but the best thing for linux gaming is transgaming cedega, of course you can always pirate it too

well i take that back, the best thing is when designers realize that linux is very viable for gaming and make install scripts a la UT2004 which runs better in linux then in windows on my computer

Once linux is more mainstream we should see some more native games, hopefully linux stays clear of the mac effect.

I think it looks ugly, it looks like what I think windows is a box with no soft edges.

That mouse is really cool judging from your description and the url of the site you gave. I've gotta get one whenever I'm baked

So do I...I like the nice, smooth shapes of mice...
But different strokes as they say...

Hmm. I just got the EXACT same mouse. But it wasn't from the brand that was on the website. I got it from Bestbuy under one of its store brands, Rocketfish. It does work wonderfully though. For those who can't see from the picture. The downslope part of the mouse rotates so the whole mouse lays flat. Its great for travel. The touchpad in the center replaces the scroll wheel.

Isn't it just acting like the middle/scroll button?
