Anyone using or used the bit torrent client named "Tribler (http://www.tribler.org/)"? I'm wondering if it's some kind of clandestine CIA funded project , it's pretty cool , but you have to be careful these days... lol

It gets a Thumbs up from here (http://torrentfreak.com/tribler-a-next-generation-bittorrent-client/)

Supposedly made by the trust worthy Hollanders.

Some time ago I downloaded it from a Harvard site (http://tv.seas.harvard.edu/). When I ran the software I was greeted with illegal dvdrips of latest movies and porn with thumbnails. (yes pornographic thumbnails) I uninstalled it immediately.

So your suspicion is that if a Harvard Applied science website is pushing it and the first thing your greeted with is illegal content then most likely they or someone is trying to manipulate you into stealing for some type of data mining or research or just plain entrapment?

I didn't think that deep as I live in a country where nobody ever got sued for downloading copyrighted material. I just didn't like the content.
But as you point out it looks like a (social) research project rather than a real p2p project.

EDIT: n/m, wikipedia says it uses LGPL
As far as being implicated with the CIA, its still not yet clear :)
