NOTE: this only works if your Mouse has one of the little scroll buttons that you can use to roll with your finger to scroll up and down on your current page on your computer. If your mouse doesn't have one of these, then this won't work.
This HOWTO is meant to show how you can click on the scroll button on your mouse to get it to "autoscroll", where you get the little up and down arrows, and can scroll simply by moving the mouse, not by scrolling the wheel. Also, this is only for Firefox, not sure if it works for other programs, like OpenOffice.
1 - Type "about:config" into your address bar for Firefox
2 - This should bring up a bunch of advanced settings for Firefox. In the new page, you should see a bar called "filter", with a space for you to type, followed by a huge array of options. In that "filter" bar, type in "autoscroll".
3 - That should bring up one line that says "general:autoScroll". If that setting is not set to true, then right-click on it, and select "toggle", which should set the Boolean expression for it to true. Then autoscroll should work.
However, as someone pointed out a couple posts down, there is a far easier way to do this without messing with the Filter and Config with Firefox. In your Firefox Browser, simply go to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced, and enable "Use Autoscrolling" under the Browser of options.
Have fun!
And wow, my first HowTo! :)
