Another Happy Solistice thread, must be a popular event.

The longer days will be welcome.

Have a happy Solstice yourself, and enjoy for the next 6 months.

Thank you.

And a happy yule, solstice, christmas, moon phase or non-holiday to all members, to each according to her or his value system.

(Heavens - whom did I omit or address more times than someone else? Life is complicated these days.)

Well, anyway, a happy number of days to all of you persons; peace, love, health and success to all of us.

Can we make this a sticky one?

I use Ubuntu SE, it is politically correct as it doesn't actually endorse or promote anything. It is a cool Inhuman theme and some good artwork.

If a Muslim comes up to me and wishes me a blessed Aid al Kebir, he is saying that he thinks I am important enough for him to want to include me in a day he considers important. He is wishing me well and I appreciate it and say, "Thank you."

If a Jew comes to me and says, "Happy Hanukkah," he is doing the same thing.

If a Christian says to someone, "Merry Christmas," he is doing the same thing.

Holiday greetings should not be perceived as being intended to force people to convert, feel bad or inferior, or uncomfortable. They are almost always intended to spread good feelings and be inclusive.

Oh, and thank you again, OP. Happy Yule yourself! :)

Happy Xmas/related.

The first version of this post was about wishing people a good generic consumerist hopiday, but I did not want to offend people this early in the mornning. I do appreciate the fact that many people still attach a spiritual op festive meaning to the next few days. I am not that cynical yet.

Ha ha, regarding that political correctness, I don't think anybody even gives a damn. Anyway, here's something that someone on Planet Debian linked to:
http://www.liberalconspiracy.org/2007/12/14/its-that-time-of-year-again/

And Merry Christmas! Enjoy yourself.
