This thread is for things not to do! to your computer.

1: Turn your speaker set in to a super magnet and try to pick up your computer. this will wipe your hard drive and may render it unusable.

2: Install Microsoft Windows! Same as above.

No matter how sexy your uber gaming system may be, never try to make love to it. Those fan blades may just be plastic, but they really hurt.

When your hard drive is making odd noises, don't just turn up the radio and hope the problem goes away. Because, unfortunately, it will go away ... and take the hard drive with it.

Do not jump out of a plane expecting to use your computer as a parachute. It simply does not have the surface area necessary to create the drag needed to slow you to a safe speed insuring a welcome connection with the ground.

Don't ever punch your laptop. It won't like it and will probably ignore you for a while even when you press the power button

There is no hard and fast rule. It will fail when it fails. It's a mechanical device.

Even worse, don't talk to the monitor and expect the computer to care.

Hey...you could do like I did. One old laptop kept giving me problems, so I took it apart. Problem was that I lost some screws and ended up having to duct tape it back. Yarrr...

Annndd...it would incessantly freeze up somewhere. I would lift it up about 3-4 inches and let it slam back on the table. This would work maybe 30 times before my computer just said, "F' you buddy..."

She is now among the junk waiting for some idiot to tear out more of her internals. I want that monitor for something...

Do not place your laptop on a chair or - indeed - any furniture meant for sitting on.

Do not place your laptop on a cushion when running.

Do not leave your laptop on top of your car while driving said car.

Do not let your cats near the computer. They (cat & computer) promptly brainstorm more ideas to drive you nuts. Also, you mouse will mysteriously disappear.

A power sander is not the best way to clean the monitor.
