Hello
My wife has done a list of 50 opensource selected applications for Ubuntu.
They are centered in design and programming, but there's also audio tools.
I hope they are useful for you all. I suggested her to post here, as thus this is a way to return all the good things and help that you have done for helping me.
Thank you
Jordi

It's important to mention that the title of the page is:
"Top Best 55 Mac OS X Free And Opensource Software"

Well I guess it isn't really for Ubuntu....
I searched a few of them and all were OSX specific and closed source. Oh well ...

Maybe this (http://www.emmaalvarez.com/2007/12/top-best-50-ubuntu-opensource.html) was the intended list?

Aimran, why do you say that?
It is true. Yesterday, someone posted a list of 50 useful applications for Ubuntu. Not only did the list contain the same applications as your wife's, but the texts were identical.
Several members spotted the 'coincidence', and the thread which copied your wife's list was jailed.
Take it as a compliment. Someone found that list so good that he wanted to gain respect by publishing it as his own.

Oh, it is so kind of you people...
Thank you for this, in my name and my wife's.
It happened to her with another post.
This demonstrates that the Ubuntu Community is respectful and has a true sense of playing right. I am really impressed with the moral arsenal that is here.
Thank you very much again.

Wow, excellent list there. I'm going to bookmark it and try out Art of Illusion, pcman, Xara and then maybe some more. :D

Thanks omega_user
Thanks Sabretooth.
With Art of Illusion modeling is easy, but if not just read the manual, and you'll be going.
I tested pcman (pcmanfm), it's good, very similar to Xfce Thunar.
And Xara is not as complete as Inkscape but that's what I use, as I am not as skilled as my wife, and is easier.

She might also like Agave (http://home.gna.org/colorscheme/). I didn't see it on either of the lists.

By the way, one thing I didn't see on either list was Remastersys 2 (http://klikit.pbwiki.com/Remastersys). Reconstructor is on there, but imo it is not as powerful or as easy to use as remastersys.

Thanks to you all. In fact, that post has been linked by many people, so I suppose it is a good resource.
