In the UK, the GCSE I.T exams are extremely simplified, and as people grow up to learn more and ore about computers, I think that these kind of questions:

Q1.) What is a computer? (1)

Q2.) What is "Microsoft Windows"? (3)

Could be accompanied by these kind of questions:

Q1.) What is meant by the phrase "Open Source"? (1)

Q2.) Name 3 advantages of Open Source Software. (3)

Q3.) Name one piece of Open Source Software. (2)

Q4.) Why have some people turned away from Microsoft in terms of Operating Systems? (5)

Well, there's no denying it could happen...

NEVER type a command you don't understand eg. sudo rm -rf / or something similar

I learnt my lesson there, didn't I? :)

I think if it did happen, it would realistically be many more years then ten

But by then it would be easy marks because linux will have ruled the world by then, mwahahahahaha!

I know. I'm ashamed of them. I got A*s in Sciences by learning the revision book back to front.

GCSE IT? my god why do they think I went to college to learn _real_ IT when I was 12. Those fools in white hall have no idea do they.

Yup. The main problem I had with it was the fact that you couldn't deviate from the course. Everyone's "website" had to be designed using Frontpage, had to be done in a particular way, and basically everyone's looked the same.
