Hi guys!

Do you know of any cool ways to enhance the Ubuntu desktop for Christmas?

Something like this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=lgEgtLxce-8) would be really cool, but it doesn't come with Ubuntu by default and I don't know how to set it up.

Ideas other than Compiz-plugins are also warmly welcome!
Let the spirit of Ubuntu and the holidays reign, this could be useful for many.

Bump.

I went about this myself and found a guide for installing the Snow plug-in (http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/showthread.php?t=5303) for desktop-effects.

After I completed the installation I downloaded some free snowflake images (http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/freedownloads/l/blfreepng05.htm).

Note for all who try, I had to login again for the plug-in to start working (I would get white squares falling down instead of the snowflakes I had selected).

Complete the effect with a wintery background image. There are plenty here (http://www.vuni.net/misanthropia_1.html).

Hope someone finds this useful! Happy [insert your preferred celebration here] everybody!
