Is it just in my machine or is the update manager logo really bad looking in Gutsy... I don't recall it being so ugly in Feisty.

Which logo? A screenshot would help.

You mean the icon. Looks fuzzy, doesn't it?

Heron will be all-SVG, which should abolish such ugliness.

It'd be nice if we were able to change the logo entirely. I find the Human theme to be absolutely revolting, yet I still have a big orange sunburst in my notification area every time there's an update. :???:

Is it merely an icon in Update Manager's path somewhere that can be renamed and changed?

Strangely, the icon is only available in 16x16 size, which is too small even for the default panel size.

Anyway, they are at:

/usr/share/icons/hicolor/16x16/apps/updates-notifier.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/16x16/apps/updates-notifier-inactive.png

I concur that it's effing ugly in Gutsy. I'm running my panels at the stock size of 24 pixels, and after upgrading from Feisty the first thing I noticed was how ugly the new update-icon was.

Hopefully this will be absolved in Heron, since as someone already pointed out it's going for an all-SVG icon set (woohoo!)
