i was just wondering would i be able to insatll Ubuntu Server Edition on a server with a p3 cpu 32mb ram and a 10Gb Hdd

i have done it on 64mb of ram that was a while ago with ubuntu 6.06. From what i remember the installer went into a reduced ram mode.

I think 32mb ram may be pushing it, just to get the installer etc loaded, you can probably run the installer with more ram and take it out again afterwards i have done this before.

A running system seems to need much less than running an installer from cd.

try installing it from the alternate install cd... not the live cd

dont think the server edition has a live cd does it?

no server doesn't have a live cd, but even the text installer requires more than 32 mb of ram i think
