The new "Rusted Emerald" e17 Theme is the most beautiful I have seen, it is tied with the "Black Emerald" e17 Theme as the most beutiful themes I have seen on any desktop, in any environment.

Both are made by Rui Pais, who has built the new OzOs.

Both the "Rusted Emerald" and the "Black Emerald" theme come by default on OzOs.

reference this two thread for OzOs information:

Try them both and you will see what I mean.

here is a screenshot of "Rusted Emerald"

It's also the colour of roses, candy canes, and cherry pie.

Can you make theme packages for people who just want the themes from Oz but not the applications?

Do you mean to say that you have not yet heard that colors can influence the psyche?

You can search for the reason why hospitals use certain colors for the walls of their OPs, the bedrooms and so on.

It is actually more of a Wine color, to be specific it gradiates from #1f0604 to #731f1f.

I liked it so much I am using it as the basis of the OzOs | apt:foo website.

Rui is a true artist.

Nice!!!

It is very, very nice!

Good points, red is the color of dress the blonde wore in the Matrix movie and a very nice color of lipstick.

They already exist:

Beautiful! :)

Next time you see Rui Pais please Thank him.

Perhaps you would find the "Black Emerald" Theme better, but thanks for trying it and OzOs out. ;)

True. Some of the more sensitive members appear to think that they are so affected. To be truthful, the friend with the tiger said that it didn't work for him. Which was the whole of the point he made.

Besides, most tigers are not aggressive. Most tigers in the wild prefer hiding and fleeing from humans, given the option.

On topic: which makes the scheme not less beautiful.

It looks the same as every other e17 theme, just different colors.

Isn't there any way to actually change how e17 looks, or are you just stuck with it but you get to tweak colors?

Isn't there any way to actually change how e17 looks, or are you just stuck with it but you get to tweak colors?Looks are deceiving OzOs is different then any other e17 distro, but only noticeable if you look under the hood and not at the surface.

First you start with who is building OzOs.

Rui Pais, why is this important? because Rui Pais is the most discriminating e17 user I know, he has built the most stable e17 distro to date.

OzOs is compiled from CVS, carefully selected by and built by Rui Pais.

When you actually try and look beyond the screenshots you gain a appreciation for it's true beauty.

To answer your question directly there are many different e17 Themes and they all look and function differently.

Which ones have you tried so far on your e17 desktop?

RAV TUX, this is just a question about using E17, how do you stay up-to-date with the E17 releases? Do you need to add a repo or compile everything again?

RAV TUX, this is just a question about using E17, how do you stay up-to-date with the E17 releases? Do you need to add a repo or compile everything again? If you use the e17 CVS Deb that Rui Pais has built you can simply add a repo, no need to recompile, and Rui has done all the hard work for you, he has compiled e17 CVS in a deb.

Where could I find this deb RAV TUX? And I have seen on the E17 web site that the current themes do not work on CVS, is this true? Sorry for the very nooby questions, I have never used E17 thoroughly and from what I see right now, I would greatly like to use it:).

Sorry for the very nooby questions, I have never used E17 thoroughly and from what I see right now, I would greatly like to use it:).I have just re-installed this e17 CVS Deb on a fresh Xubuntu install, here is the message you get upon completion, which answers some of you questions;

The most incredible and really unbelivable dream has become true:
You compiled e17 sucessfully!

Starting e17:
If you're using a login manager (GDM/KDM), select the session type 'Enlightenment' in them.

Hint: From now on you can easily keep your installation up to date.
Simply run easy_e17.sh with -u .

We hope you will enjoy your trip into e17... Have fun!
You can find the e17 CVS Deb and the OzOz-Desktop_light Deb here:

As much as I like E17, I just cant live with the lack of a system tray. Stalone Tray and trayer dont seem to like me very much, but perhaps ill get around to trying them again sometime.

Rav, why do you even setup your desktop  You seem to install a new one every half hour ;)
