Hi Guys,

im trying to install ubuntu 7.10 on my pc for dual boot, I have a windows xp already installed first. I have run the live cd, but the login prompt keeps in prompting counting down 10 secs, after that it would login, but again, it would logout and would be prompting again for username and password.

Is there anything I should do first, before installing it? I guess it has something to do with the Windows XP as first that has been installed?

How would I install Gutsy for dual boot?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jedski

Very nice question... May I know you system requirements first? And do you have a very good installer (mdsum check)? Your Hard Disk size? How many GB did you create for your Windows XP?

note: Your installer should not prompt for username and password.

Let me know it first, then I will instruct you how to do it perfectly...

Wubi is good for a newbie... You can try it. Just install it in your XP! One of the alternatives.
