I put together the following components:

Gigabyte X38-DQ6
Intel E6850 3GHz L2 Cache, 1333 MHz FSB, with a Zalman cooler
2GB Crucial Ram (Ballistix Tracer)
2 350GB Western Digital SATA drives.
EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB
All housed in a Thermaltake Armor Series VA8000 Tower

I had to install windows xp on one drive and Gutsy on the other. I need windows only for two reasons, Delphi 2006 and Quicken. Well soon after I installed Gutsy without a hitch, I learned about VirtualBox. I installed both Delphi and Quicken and they worked perfectly. I made a simple Hello World program and compiled it without any problems. I hope I don't have any issues when I compile my other programs. Now I don't need to boot to the other hard drive. Nice!

I've been in the programming world for over 10 years and always heard of linux, but never made the switch. Well when I heard about Ubuntu and reading this forum, I made the leap. Thanks to the search feature on this forum and Google, I found all the answers I needed to install and configure Gusty. I'm a newbie to linux, so I'm still learning the simple things. You'll be seeing my posts, when I've exhausted the search option.

Ubuntu Rocks!!!:guitar:
