The system is an AMD 64 cpu, if that helps...

I hope it is possible?

What are the alternatives?

I already have Eclipse going as an Integrated Development Environment for java. Which plugins do you suggest using to enable programming in;

Basic
python
c

Is it easy to get the plugin installed?

Thank you!

Alternatives are:

FreeBasic: http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?groupname=fbc&filename=FreeBASIC-v0.18.2b-linux.tar.gz&use_mirror=superb-east

Gambas (Synaptic)

Yabasic (Synaptic)

Small Basic http://smallbasic.sourceforge.net/

I would go with Gambas as it is more popular compared to the others and it's not that hard to learn with Visual Basic knowledge.

Gambas - not compatible with the architecture (AMD 64 Cpu) nor is gambas 2, it tells me.

yabasic is not listed in add/remove software.

Is Free Basic compatible?

Enable the other repositories, then search again.
