OK, so im shure that this is a repost, but here goes. I am wanting to divide up my harddrive so that i can tri boot feorda ubuntu and open suse. So my first problem is that gparted laocked the partitions so i cant divide them. Then also i need to know how to edit the menu.lst so i can get some sort of menu on boot where i can choose which distro to boot, and i need to know how to put the neccecary info in for the boot procces. Also if there is something else i need to know please tell me

you have to use a live cd to use gparted properly. use the gparted live cd...or the ubuntu install live cd.

and have you considered using virtualbox?

I tested them with virtual box but i was looking fo omething more permanent + virtual box can be slow
