I've been really bored lately, and I just acquired a nice bit of money from several holidays. I've done a couple of weekend projects in the last few weeks (setting up an SSH server, learning Dvorak), and I'm trying to find something for the holiday break. Any ideas? It should:

1. Be related to advanced computer usage but not be a programming project.

2. Not cost too much. If it does cost money, it should be somewhat useful or very interesting.

Thanks!

build a linux powered potato gun!

propane regulation, ignition could be comp controlled.

might require quite a bit of hardware mods tho hahah

Build a mame cabinet! Run it on linux and get it to auto-update newer roms via wireless just for fun

That MAME cabinet looks interesting; thanks. The potato gun may be a bit over my head :).

Any more input?

Maybe some sort of media box that pumps out music around the house. Maybe you already have it? Maybe the same but a video box.
