OpenOffice Templates

I DL'd a template pack from OOo but I am not sure how use it. I have it sitting in my document folder for the time being. I want to find a template to keep track of my money in Database. Does anyone know how I can get it to work or is there any other programs that you would recommend?

Are you trying to create documents using that template? Like I have an APA Style template (for research papers) and a Class Notes template (for class notes).

Or use that template for a document?
