Hello all,
My wife and I have a project we've been doing for a few years. We give Christmas presents to under privileged children at an outreach center. This year we are giving 25 recycled computers with Ubuntu installed. I work for a tech company and have gotten a lot of stuff donated to build complete systems, but the OS was a problem.

I couldn't afford Windows and I didn't want people that cant afford it to be hooked in to the M$ business model. The problem I have is what would be a good book/manual I can give with the machines? I looked on Amazon and saw a real nice book for like $30.....yeah right, my budget is quite a bit less than that. Any suggestions? I don't think they need anything real in depth, I think they need more of a basic instruction manual to get going with.

You could place a copy of "The Official Ubuntu Book" on each of the computers' desktops. Here's a link to the pdf. http://searchenterpriselinux.techtarget.com/tip/0,289483,sid39_gci1207485,00.html
