this thread is about monitors...specifically your refresh rate and screen resolution
EDIT: oh and can you post what type of monitor you have (CRT,LCD)
EDIT1: I think I shouldn't have had the 640x480 or 800x600 options

CRT 20" don't know the brand the front case has been changed. I run it at 1600*1200 85 HZ not to bad for getting it free.

my ubuntu desk has a 17" 1280*1024 lcd
my windows laptop has a 15.4" 1650*1050 lcd

2 x Samsung Syncmaster 940BW, 19" WS @ 1440x900 - effectively 2880x900

EDIT: Forgot that I have a Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP, 20" WS - 1680x1050

I have a dual head using both a LCD and CRT. The desktop is 2560x1024 @ 60Hz.

My laptop is 1280x800.

Viewsonic VP171b running @1280x1024 60Hz

was a nice monitor when i got it, but now i'm a bit tired of the lowly resolution.

laptop is a 15'' running 1600x1200 60Hz - this is perfect size for my eyes :)

Laptop a Toshiba standard screen? 1024x768

Haven't a clue what the refresh rate actually is, default is 60hz I think?
Who cares, it just works.

A question: If a screen can only refresh it's image say 85 times per second, why do high-end graphics cards put out frame rates that are significantly higher?
