As far as concert band/orchestral music goes, I have to say Samuel R. Hazo's "Sevens" wins hands down in my mind. I don't think I've heard a song so cool in a long time.

Take Five with the Dave Brubeck quartet. Paul Desmond on the sax is just incredible.

my favourite is Samual Barber's 'Adaggio for Strings'. i think it's one of the most emotional and moving pieces of all. this is it:

"The One Winged Angel" is my favorite... it plays fighting Sephiroth at the end of FF7 IDK who wrote it...

Too many favorites to list really, but heres the first one that come to mind:

Bach - Fugue in G Minor

Barber - Adagio for strings

Beethoven's 5th Symphony (the whole thing)

prelude siciliano and rondo by arnold is fun to play

pretty much all of the Planets by Holst

bugler's holiday by leroy anderson

no more blues by Joseph Alessi


i could go on and on... I love music.
