I read the news on bbc that told about the biggest ever search engine attack that allows malicious code to run on users PC.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7118452.stm
from that report;
Websites loaded on these domains were booby-trapped with malicious software that looked for vulnerabilities in copies of Microsoft's Internet Explorer used to browse them.
The criminals tried to catch out Windows users

That is why i use noscript addon with firefox to stop them running any java scripts on my machines
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722
Also i recommend using opendns

yep, i've used noscript for awhile and although it CAN get annoying sometimes with the pop-up/dropdown, it's indispensible.

Yeah, I just turn off the notification and rely instead on the crossed out S in the bottom right corner.
