Just a thought. My brother mentioned that he saw a course in "Ethical Hacking", mainly geared towards securing your linux system against intruders etc.
But this lead me to the thought on that term.
Is there actually such a thing as Ethical Hacking?
I mean, as I understand it, hacking is basically a user, which would "hack" open his own system, and make changes to it to his desires, whereas cracking, is the "unethical" or "unlawful" entry into someone else's system etc.
So can the term "Hacking" be placed into these categories, based on all activities thereof, or does hacking solely refer to a enthusiastic user playing with his system?
Thanks for any input.
