There are so many threads, I'm sure, with "xorg" in their name so sorry if this has already been asked.

I just wanted to know how many people here have linux problems that stem from xorg?

how many people feel that xorg is antiquated and needs to be replaced?

anyone know of any projects that could one day replace xorg?

and if anyone likes xorg i want to hear about that too ! :)

xorg is far from antiquated, in fact it is one of the most advanced windowing systems currently in development. It has roots originally as part of the XFree86 project, which is years old, but they forked the code a long while ago.

Xorg is under very heavy development, and Ubuntu has a tendency to use beta/testing versions in it's stable releases, which is why we get crashability.

Some of xorgs instability is also down to how it was built and packaged by the devs -- everyone makes mistakes, and it's very easy to screw up a package compilation of X, as there are so many individual parts.
