Any Scrantonians or Dunmorans?

I'd like to think there are more people besides me spread Linux around these parts.

Yup. I live in Dunmore. My Ubuntero friend lives out in Spring Brook, but goes to PSU Worthington Scranton with me.

I will do my best to hang out in #ubuntu-pennsylvania on freenode (irc.ubuntu.com, the default IRC server in gaim/pidgin.) It looks like LaRoza does that too. I hope to see more of you guys there.

I was born in Scranton but now reside in another state. My elderly parents are in Montrose, Susquehanna County, and I spend a lot of time there.

Actually hosted a Feisty Fawn Ubuntu Release Party in Montrose with some guests from the STNYLUG (http://www.stnylug.org/) in Binghamton, NY, but have not been able to organize a group or team for an installfest yet.

I attend Penn State Worthington, so I'm in the Dunmore area frequently (more than I'd like to be ;) ). I come from the Moscow area.

Seriously, Dunmore and Scranton really need a technological update. The only tech places that are nearby are Circuit City and Best Buy in Dickson City.

Newegg is right out front, depending on shipping.

I agree though, it isn't the easiest place to get tech stuff. There is a RadioShack downtown, and a computer shop which builds and fixes computers in Dunmore, called "Turtle" something.

I believe they're called Turtle Computers & Distributors.

THERE ARE MORE! I am one. I'd love to help organize. I have been an ubuntu user for a solid month now. I would never choose windows over ubuntu. I used windows for about 10 years and never really thought about switching. One day I got bored with windows 7 and thought maybe I would dual boot ubuntu. I tried to partition the drive but had no luck. So I took the plunge and used the whole drive. At first I was not impressed because I didn't understand anything. I started participating in forums and began customizing the system and downloading FREE AWESOME programs. I am now hooked and am not even going to bother calling for a wondoze recovery disk. I would love to attend meetings to learn more. :)
