Hi !

There has been some time since my last post (less and less time) and I haven't really read many news so I don't know what has been happening in the linux world these few months.

My question: I want to buy a new video card but I don't know what to choose: nVidia or ATI? I know there used to be problems with the ATI drivers... any problems now?

Do the last nVidia drivers allow suspending to RAM/disc ? I never managed to get this to work with the legacy drivers (I now have a TNT2 card).

Please no model suggestion... I'm going for a low-end model since I'm not interested in playing games.

Thanks in advance!

ATI have recently overhauled their drivers with support for AIGLX and better linux performance in general. however, it is still early and i have seen many reports of the bleeding edge ati drivers causing problems.

i would personally recommend sticking with nVidia for now.

Thanks for the reply!
This confirms what I thought... but what about the suspending part?
