ok but I had to wait about 20 minutes until it told me it failed and I didn't happen to get the details down

I updated the deb somewhere yesterday, you probably were downloading at same time.
About your other error is corrected now.

TVTIME let's you view TV from a TVCARD, I have no idea what gobby is, and Inkscape is a very nice image editor that natively saves in .svg format
