A demogroup I'm in just released New World for windows and x86 linux machines.
You can download the release from here
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=33703
Running it should be simple enough. make sure you chmod +x the starting script and the executable in case it has lost its executable flag. (I had to do that on my machine)

does it have a soundtrack?
the last linux release did not, only the windows port.

There's no difference in the linux-build and the windows-build except for the executable. If the soundtrack is not starting, it's because of fmod vs linux and a soundsystem that I've heard someone claim is sound, but to me, isn't quite there yet ;)

as in, sometimes the soundtrack won't play because flash is using the soundcard, or other odd things like that.
