Does anyone know a good book or online tutorial for C# .NET? I want to write a plugin for gnome-do (https://edge.launchpad.net/gc) that will interface with exaile. They have a rhythmbox one, but that doesn't help me or anyone else who uses Exaile. I think it will be a good place to start as most of the plugins I've looked at look fairly simple. I know SQL (which is what the exaile db is in), but I'm unfamiliar with C# so I'd like to learn. Also, if anyone else is interested in helping me with this plugin maybe you could mentor me or something like that?

I don't know much about C# or .NET, but I don't think you can use .NET for that project. .NET is MS only, as far as I know. It does use C# which I do not know.

you can use mono as long as there's a .net binding for it. pidgin has one so you can make plugins for pidgin in mono.
