But I was extremely happy to hear that they were making it open-source.

I like this, because I'm tired of every darn device coming out with its own proprietary OS/whatever junk that's really limited and you can't do squat to make it better.

When I buy a device, sure, I'd like it to work out of the box. But, I'd also like the capability to program it, or totally swap out the OS if I wanted.

I think some independent dev's will get ahold of this and make some interesting things.
