I've just started a new job and I was amazed at my work desktop:

They've given me a quad-core with 4Gb of memory! - Crazy

Who else has a cool work computer?

I think that's a little overkill for office applications

my computer was top notch when i started 4 yrs ago, but now it seems really dated.

i have a dell dimension 8300, pentium 4, with 1 GB of ram. sometimes when we are doing volume calculations or something like that i wish i had more ram or a more powerful processor or both, but most of the time it runs smoothly.

Its more for programming but given that my boss has a 12 yr old sun workstation with an old sparc processor i'm still inclined to agree!

Well, I have a Pentium 3 with 128mb of RAM in my dorm room....

My dad (an electrical engineer) just got an 8 core mac pro though

I suppose that that would be out of the ordinary

I work at home. My computer is pretty dated but runs Ubuntu like a champ!

P4 2.4ghz running at 3.11ghz 2GB of RAM, Geforce 6800XT OC'd 35%, Asus P1, Audigy 2zs platinum, 24-in-1 card reader, 600GB of hard drive space. 32" LCD HDTV and 19" LCD Panel. Razer Tarrantula, and Copperhead. 12" AIPTEK Graphics Tablet.

I've had this computer for about 4 years now and upgraded a few things here and there but now I cant afford upgrading so I just overclock a little more here and there

I started a new job last month and yes, I was given a pretty slick machine! What an upgrade from my old work clunker.

Dell Dimension with a 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo processor
3 GB RAM w/ 300GB HD
Dual 19" monitors

Plenty of power and speed

I work in a dungeon.
My current machine:

Tandy 1000
Intel 8088 Processor
640k RAM
2x 5.25" Floppy Drives
External 3.5" Floppy Drive

(No, I'm not kidding. Welcome to the SoDak! Gladly, I'm running a far superior machine at home...)

Compaq Evo N610c (http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11382_div/11382_div.HTML)

Could use more ram, but it chugs along and gets the job done. For it's age it's better than some might have. I'd prefer my Inspiron 1420n if they'd only allow me to use it. =]
