Networking class assignment

For my networking class we have an assignment, where we have to write a mini journal (8 entries) that deals with any subject that might pertain to networking. I choose 'Open Source Solutions' as my topic. Where would be some good places to start looking for information?

Hmmm... it's not a very common subject among desktop distributions. I think you would find some wires going on or achrived at websites such as

www.linux.com
www.osdir.com

these are more enterprise orientated websites. Enterprises and networking + Open Source... man... that's hot stuff!
