Hello all ubuntu fans !

With the permission of trademarks@ubuntulinux.org, me and my girlfriend (she's a professional artist) will soon start to produce nice hand-painted Ubuntu t-shirts, shits, sweat-shirts, and anything else, on request...

We do not have any samples yet, as my girlfriend has some work to finish before she can start to work on this Ubuntu project.

As soon as we have some samples to show, I'll launch a website. You will be of course able to order on this website but also to ask for personalized stuff.

So stay tuned, more news soon... ;-)

That sounds pretty cool. Being a huge hippie I'd like to custom order something on organic cotton. :D

How about sturdy tea mugs for those long hacking sessions, ubuntu styled. I would want some of those..

I might be interested. What sort of prices are we looking at?

Hello all !

Things gets a little bit delayed because of christmas and new years's celebrations and for some others reasons (mainly work related). We plan to show some stuff at the end of January, so please be patient. As I said in my first post, I'll launch a website as soon as we have something to show.

@humina : no problem, this sounds nice, but do you have some links to show what kind of stuff you'd like to be painted and maybe where we can buy them on the net ?

@Lovechild : we planned to paint only clothes, but this might be possible, I'll ask my girlfried if she can do this.

@Daniel G. Taylor : this will be of course a little bit more expensive that printed stuff, but not that much. We don't have any price list yet but don't be afraid, it will be quite affordable. Our primary idea is to provide high quality stuff for the ubuntu community at reasonable price so everybody can get its own.

So, once again, please be patient, and stay tuned ;-)

That is what I would like. Unfortunately it looks like they only sell in bulk. That is why they are so cheap ($4.75)

Unfortunately they are not cheap

They have hemp shirts for $14. Let's see if I can find one cheaper...

brick and mortar:

Has one for $12. This is the best price I can find right now. I guess this is about what I would want painted. I look forward to seeing what sort of designs you come up with. I guess that should be designs your girlfriend comes up with.

After researching this I've found that buying in mass quantities is a lot cheaper. You can get that same $12 shirt for $4 . . . if you buy 3,000 of them:

If you live in Belgium just search for biologique and the (French/Dutch/German) equivalent of tshirt. I'm not sure what language is spoken in Liège.

@humina : Ok, I see now exactly what you are looking for. I think I can find it where I live, I'll take a look at some shops to see if it's avariable.

I like much the phrase of Shaw: “If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples, then you and I still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.”
Is possible?

As soon as I get a job (and my own computer in which to run Ubuntu on) I'd love to order a Ubuntu t-shirt...

Heres an idea: Put a HUGE Ubuntu logo on the back of a t-shirt. Than put Tux the Linux penguin in the hole in the center of the logo. Than people will recongnise tux as being Linux and wonder what the symbol is and we can explain Ubuntu...

I'd be down to order Ubuntu sexy gear...but I've noticed a serious lack of hoodies! And hats! And square cut boxer briefs! :-P

But seriously, if hoodies and hats were thrown in the mix, I'd have gear.

I'd buy a hoodie! Although I'm not sure I'd buy a hoodie if it had a penguin on it. The ubuntu logo is cool though, i'd wear a hoodie with that on for sure. Nice big phat hoodie!

With a logo like that I'm sure the hippie-masses would love it thrown on a frisbee!

Any updates on the shirt at all? I haven't checked this thread in a while and I was wondering if this idea materialized. I'd really like it to :-D

erm I think the PLF penguin is pretty hard enough for a black hoodie...

I haven't seen much of an update on this so I'm assuming it kind of fizzled out. If said hand painted shirts or whatnot are still available, let me know.
