Wow! That was both cool and humbling.

It give you pause for thought about the sheer complexity of a modern PC and how on earth any OS runs *most* of the time without collapsing into a heap on your hard drive.

The image is a spoof, it's actually a computer from a submarine. It was never a prediction of home computers of the future.

And it's actually a pretty doctored photo, too. The typewriter/keyboard, the monitor, and the man standing there were all added. The photo itself was originally in color, and it's a control center for a decommissioned sub sitting in some museum somewhere. That doesn't make it any less hilarious.

Now that you point it out it is pretty obvious isn't it. from the light angles
