I just ordered: http://www.x-tremegeek.com/templates/SearchDetail.asp?productID=13430 (from another site) and was wondering if anyone had any luck with it on Linux, specifically, Ubuntu. While we are at it, how about Vista?

My forces desparately need this arsenal, please respond. I constantly go out into the world with only my laptop and need protection.

-EDIT Found this, any success in Gutsy?

^I remembered posting a link to another thread, but it was for 7.04, so any new issues welcome

Thanks, that is a slightly different model, but probably are the same on the inside. I did find a thread on this, that was for 7.04 and was wondering if there are any new issues, or if Gutsy comes with the driver :-)

It seems easy to get working on Linux, and the Windows thing may work in Wine anyway.

My Armed forces are constantly demanding me to invest in one of these... so i'd be interested to know how well it works on gutsy...

I'll keep the people informed. I'll be able to actively fight against the Windows people now!

No, the USB Toaster (http://store.theonion.com/gotcha-gift-box-usb-toaster-p-71.html) is.

I can't wait to get it, along with another USB toy I ordered.

I wonder when the USB powered vacuum cleaner comes out!

...with USB 3.0, which should be finished by the end of next year.

Actually, there is a prototype vacuum cleaner, but it isn't USB powered. (Windows Vista, it really sucks)

No love for the USB Mini Fridge (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/chill-out/usb-mini-fridge-chills-drinks-fast-right-at-your-desk-262124.php) [gizmodo]? :)

Oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap....

I got to this point in the How-to:

sudo rmmod {e,o,u}hci-hcd hid

Then the bloody thing would not go past the MAKE command.

Now, I have no USB support...how do I reverse above command so I can use my mouse?

I should have waited for a review of the process.....

USB can power anything assuming it can supply the power, using something, like the Missile Launcher, is more impressive.

Both referenced methods, in the first page did not work in Gutsy. I am holding on to hope, but this is why I dual boot...

It works in Vista, although it doesn't say it does.

Now, I will set up my laptop (with Vista) and head out into the world. I wonder what I can get away with? I can't wait for my class tomorrow...
