Hi, and thanks for a very nice magazine.

I have used PhotoShop for a long tim to editing my photos. I am not an expert, but I know how to do the things I want. After starting to use Ubuntu I wanted to learn how to use Gimp instead.
First I was very skeptical, had never tried it before and all I found (read) was so negativ. Then I learned about a site called www.meetthegimp.org where you can download free video tutorials about Gimp and photo; and I think they are great. They are easy to follow, and they cover what you would need for photo editing with Gimp(and also some plugins). They are even using Ubuntu to show it of, and will only use FOSS software. Now I know how to use Gimp, and really love it more and more, version 2.4 is very nice(color management as one of the new important stuff).

My suggestion is simple; perhaps you could mention this site in next magazine, I guess a lot would like to hear about it.

Thanks for reading:)

Well, we're hoping to run a series of articles on how to use GIMP soon. I only have about two articles left of my Scribus series then I hope to get a GIMP series running.

Keep watching! :KS
