i don't know what to call it yet but a livecd sounds nice for it too.
if you want to help post here and tell me.
i will set up a free website and a forum to plan it out.

The only problem I see is that with the live CD you cannot save your games. How about Usb Booting

i was thinking of making a usb version too.
i was thinking of having a wizard to save/load games to the hard drive.
i have just come up with the idea and want anyone who can help to at least consider helping me with this because it would be a great idea.

i am working on a free web forum right now so me and who ever wants to help can plan something out.
i will have a emu for n64, snes, gba, NES and atari.
it will probably be a usb boot thing.
emUSB would be the best name for it.

Wow. Ads galore. Could you not find a free webhost without ads? There are so many nowadays.

Sorry! You are not authorized to view this page.
Nice service, this Bravehost. Doesn't seem very brave or chivalrous to me.

Starting a forum is not the solution. Do some research before you even make it public that you're doing something. This way you will have a convicing argument and more people will join your project.

Right now you have a castle in the air that none of us can see. This is not how software development works. Either you have the goods or you don't.

Don't take this in a negative sense. Just read up on live CD's, live USB's etc. and on Linux internals. Try Gentoo docs and Linux From Scratch. Decide whether you want to remaster Ubuntu (or another distro) or start from scratch. Then come back here and tell us your grand idea.

~ PEACE ~

i have read LFS and fixed the problem on the site.
the problem was that the site was called emucd but i renamed it to emUSB and forgot to change in the source.

There are several posts on the forum that document how to go about making your own live cd. There are probably even a couple that talk about creating a USB based OS.

The programming subforum is no use to you for this project, since there is no programming involved, you're just packaging a bunch of stuff onto a cd.

You might want to look at Slax. www.slax.org

When installed to a USB drive, you can easily add programs with the modules on that site. You can also remaster the iso image with the modules. It may be a simpler solution to what you are wanting to make.

Try Epiphany - Gecko engine but much lighter than firefox.

A wizard to save files to usb? What exactly would it do?

like the firefox clear private data, ask if you want to save to a hard drive or the usb stick that the system is on then checking the the things you want to save in the check boxes then saving the data to the drive.
